Emerald Homes was founded in 1984 by Raymond “R.T.” Avery, III after seeing an increasing need for more single-family homes for first-time home buyers. Since that time, Emerald Homes has built over 4,000 new homes in New Kent, Chesterfield, Henrico, Powhatan, Goochland, Hanover, and Prince George Counties.

Under the leadership of R.T.’s son, Ray Avery, Emerald Homes has become one of the largest home builders in the Greater Richmond area. As the company has evolved, so has our offerings. Emerald Homes and Emerald Custom Homes now offer a variety of home plans and locations geared for first-time, move-up, and downsizing, home buyers. One thing has remained the same – our commitment to quality. Emerald Homes has one of the best rankings among the home builders in the Richmond market for customer satisfaction.
